How to Deposit Your Work

Who can deposit?

  • Current academic staff, administrative staff, and students of the Kansai University
  • Former academic staff and administrative staff of the Kansai University
  • People who have submitted their thesis or dissertation to the Kansai University
  • People who have co-authored a paper with above-mentioned author(s)

Students who wish to deposit their work must obtain permission from their supervisors.

What can be deposited?

  • Journal article (post-print, published version)
  • Bulletin paper
  • Preprint
  • Conference paper
  • Thesis or dissertation (doctoral dissertation)
  • Presentation
  • Research Paper (research-result report of KAKENHI, COE, GP, and other grants)

The item once deposited will not be deleted even if an author leave or graduate from the university.

Making a deposit request

Follow one of the ways below.

Note:
If the publisher retains copyright of your work, library office will check the publisher's copyright policy. However, you must receive permission from all other co-authors before making a deposit request.
If you are student, you may not make a deposit request via System for Academic Information. Please submit Academic Repository Registration Form, which is signed by your supervisor.

System for Academic Information:

If you are academic staff and may log-in to the System for Academic Information (http://gakujo.kansai-u.ac.jp/search/index.jsp), you can deposit your work to the repository via System for Academic Information.

Prepare followings and send to Academic Repository Team, Kansai University Library.

Copyright

Kansai University makes no claims regarding the ownership of copyright for the items stored in the repository. However, we require copyright owners to authorize us to reproduce an electronic version of the item and publish it online.

Author's permission

If copyright of your work remains with you, you can give your permission by submitting Kansai University Academic Repository Registration Form or using Kansai University System for Academic Information.

Co-author's permission
To deposit a co-authored paper, you need to receive permission from all other co-authors, then submit Kansai University Academic Repository Registration Form to us.

Publisher's permission

If the publisher retains copyright of your work, library office will check the publisher's copyright policy. Any items cannot be deposited into the repository without authorization of publisher.
Some publishers specify what version of an article can be deposited. This could be: Publisher's Version (final published article), Post-Print (draft after it has been peer reviewed), or Pre-print (draft before peer review). If the publisher of your work does not allow the published version to be archived into the repository, we will request you to submit author's post-print.

Withdrawing a work from the repository

If you wish to withdraw your work from the repository, fill out the Request form for withdrawing an item from Kansai University Academic Repository and send it to the academic repository team of Kansai University Library.
Even after you withdraw the item, when the situation changes, we welcome you to re-publish it on the repository.
