Abstract: This study investigated the concept of Japanese bonds between marriied couples, and how that would affect the level of marital satisfaction as well as the parent-child satisfaction. It is common in Japan to have multiple bonds, similar to psychological attachments. In this study, questionnaires were administered to married subjects of 900 with children. The main findings were: (1) Being aware of psychological benefit of Japanese bonds actually increased the level of marriage satisfaction. (2) Husbands were more satisfi ed with their marriage than wives. (3) Marriage satisfaction positively correlated with the parent?child satisfaction. (4) Mothers were more satisfied with their parent-child relationships than their marital relationships. More in details were discussed in the article.
